If you are considering visiting a Social Security office to obtain a statement or proof of benefits, be informed that several documents can now be accessed online through the organization’s new portal.
“The Social Security Direct website offers a specific area for Statements, allowing citizens quick access without the need to visit service centers,” states the latest newsletter of the organization.
Social Security explains that “the statements available in this area have a standardized layout, presenting all relevant data in a more intuitive and complete manner.”
“A verification code is also available, enabling other entities to confirm the authenticity of the statements when printed,” it adds.
What statements can you obtain?
“Currently, the available documents in this area include the Contribution History Statement, Pensioner Status Statement, Contact Proof, Family Benefits Status Statement (which encompasses all related benefits, such as the family allowance or subsidy for third-party assistance) and Pension Receipts,” the organization notes.

Social Security has launched a new website. Essentially, the new portal integrates the informational site of the Instituto da Segurança Social (ISS) with that of Social Security Direct.
The new site “combines the Informational Portal with Social Security Direct, reorganizing content and making it easier to search for information,” according to the entity. Learn about the changes.
“Welcome to the new Social Security portal, which combines the Informational Portal and Social Security Direct into one site, reorganizing content and simplifying information searches,” reads a statement released by the organization.

What has changed?
“With a modern design and more intuitive navigation, new areas have been created, representing the life journey of citizens, with all Social Security information and services accompanying the various life stages,” says the same released note.
This portal, according to the information shared, “aims to facilitate interaction between citizens and companies with Social Security through simpler interactions and increasingly available online services that allow for requests and personal process consultations, eliminating the need to visit a service center for issues.”
A highlighted feature of the new site is the Social Security support simulator, which reveals the social support or subsidies one may be entitled to. “It’s a new digital tool that aims to simplify access to information on available social benefits,” explained the ISS.
“With an intuitive operation, the simulator allows citizens to quickly and simply ascertain the potential entitlements to social benefits based on input data, without the result being binding,” the ISS further explains.
