The month is halfway through, but there are still Social Security benefits to be paid, according to the calendar released at the beginning of September.
Therefore, there are two key dates to note for this month:
- September 23: when the Social Integration Income is paid;
- September 26: the scheduled date for the second payment of unemployment/illness/parenthood/social action benefits, along with the Informal Caregiver Support Allowance.
Family Allowance, Sickness or Unemployment Benefit: Simulate in “a few minutes”
Social Security offers a benefits simulator that allows users to determine “in a few minutes” if they are eligible for any social benefits, the government reminded in a post shared on Instagram.
“Did you know you can simulate social benefits in just a few minutes? The online simulator helps understand the supports you may be entitled to quickly and simply,” reads the publication from the government.
The government further explains that the “simulator automatically calculates the supports you may be entitled to, like family allowance, sickness benefit, unemployment benefit, or Social Integration Income.”

What will you need?
According to Social Security information, “to answer the simulator’s questions as accurately as possible, you will need some information.”
“The questions are aimed at determining which benefits/supports you may be eligible for, and all requested data is relevant for certain social benefits, so it’s important to answer as accurately as possible,” it reads.
Moreover, you should also consider the following:
- If you live, work, or have worked abroad, the simulation results may not accurately reflect your specific situation;
- The benefits presented in the simulation results pertain to the person conducting the simulation and their dependents. For other family members to know their eligible benefits, such as unemployment benefit, they should simulate themselves.

Today, Social Security pensioners receive their September pensions, which include an extraordinary supplement announced by the government. This bonus varies according to the pension amounts received.
It is noteworthy that the Social Security surplus increased to 3,214.9 million euros in the first seven months of the year, as revealed by the summary of budget execution.
According to the document released today by the Budgetary Entity, the accumulated amount until July is higher than the 2,712.4 million euros reported for the same period last year.
However, until June, the surplus was 3,673.9 million euros, indicating a decline compared to the previous month.
