
Forbes has published the, featuring once again only one Portuguese name: Maria Fernanda Amorim. Her wealth is estimated at 5.9 billion dollars, approximately 5.4 billion euros.
The Portuguese billionaire has slipped in the ranking. She climbed to the 522nd position last year but now appears in the 597th position, although her fortune has grown from an estimated 5.3 billion last year.
The 90-year-old Portuguese billionaire and her three daughters, Paula, Marta, and Luísa, inherited Américo Amorim’s fortune following his passing in July 2017. The wealth originated from Corticeira Amorim and Irmãos, founded in Mozelos, Santa Maria da Feira. Moreover, Forbes highlights her investments in the energy sector and banks in various countries.
Forbes notes that Amorim’s most significant asset is an estimated 19.5% stake in the Portuguese oil and gas company Galp Energia, chaired by her eldest daughter, Paula.
The heir of the Amorim empire makes her seventh appearance in this ranking.
