A 42-year-old man has been named as a suspect by the Territorial Command of Aveiro from the National Republican Guard (GNR) through the Territorial Post of Vagos on September 29 for possession of a prohibited weapon in the parish of Gafanha da Boa Hora.
In a statement sent to newsrooms on Tuesday, October 1, the military explained that “as part of an investigation into alleged possession of a prohibited weapon,” they conducted “police proceedings that resulted in two house search warrants.”
During the operation, “various materials” were seized, including a crossbow, seven arrows, three sabres, and 252 rounds of ammunition.
The suspect was named as a defendant, and the facts were reported to the Judicial Court of Vagos.
The National Republican Guard reminds that, “according to the Legal Regime of Weapons and Ammunition, anyone who, without authorization, holds, transports, keeps, buys, or acquires any weapon listed in n.º 1 of Article 86 of the same diploma, is committing the crime of possession of a prohibited weapon.”
