The Social Democratic Party (PSD) issued a statement on Saturday concerning the “single income declaration and the clarifications requested and provided by the PSD President,” Luís Montenegro. The statement emphasizes five key points to ensure the truth is clear.
Firstly, the party notes in a communication to the media that “within its jurisdiction, the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Constitutional Court (TC) requested clarifications from the PSD President regarding the single declarations of 2022 and 2023, similar to what occurs with various holders of political offices.” Montenegro “fully provided all requested clarifications.”
“In this regard,” the statement continues, “the President of the Constitutional Court notified the PSD President yesterday, following the Public Prosecutor’s proposal, about the archiving of the respective files, a decision made last Thursday, April 10, 2025.”
From this, “it follows that there was no failure on the part of the PSD President, nor is there any pending evaluation.”
Finally, the PSD’s statement highlights that “the Public Prosecutor considered all additional requested clarifications on Thursday to be fulfilled, a formal decision that is shared with the media to dispel any doubts regarding the truth of the facts.”
