
“It’s funny that so many people, so many people who cry out, complain, and some even bark about corruption, but when it comes to corruption at TAP, at ANA, in major privatizations, they are as quiet as mice, because they certainly must have their tails caught in all these dealings,” he stated.
Speaking at a dinner with militants in Braga, the communist leader commented that a policy of privatizations, involving “these economic crimes and the corruption associated with them,” is underway in Portugal.
He also alluded to a policy of dismantling the National Health Service and “assaulting” Social Security.
“Everything is a business, be it education, health or housing,” he criticized.
He accused the government of wanting to live “in the best of both worlds” by intending to approve “one thing with the PS and another with Chega.”
“Everything goes on, and the ones who suffer are the small fry. The people always suffer,” he pointed out.
