Three men were arrested on Tuesday by the National Republican Guard (GNR) in the town of Moita, suspected of aggravated theft.
In a statement, the GNR reported that an off-duty officer “spotted the presence of three individuals acting suspiciously” as they were refueling a vehicle at a fuel station.
Faced with the situation, police procedures were initiated, and GNR officers immediately moved to the location, the statement read.
The suspects were “intercepted and identified,” and it was found that they were “operating a vehicle stolen in Cascais.” “Security checks and a search of the vehicle were conducted, where other stolen items were found.”
The detainees will be brought before the Judicial Court of Cascais for the application of coercive measures. The GNR also reports that one of the suspects has an outstanding arrest warrant.
