Two men, aged 34 and 63, and a woman, aged 19, were detained by the Territorial Command of Bragança from the National Republican Guard (GNR), through the Criminal Investigation Unit of Miranda do Douro, last Thursday, October 30, for the crime of residential burglary in the municipality of Vimioso.
In a statement sent to newsrooms on Saturday, the officers explained that, “following a report of a burglary in the interior of a residence located in the aforementioned municipality,” they conducted investigations “which allowed them to identify and intercept the suspects.”
Following the operation, it was added, “a summary search was conducted on the vehicle in which the suspects were traveling,” revealing that they “were in possession of the stolen items, including various gold articles, with an estimated value of 5,000 euros.”
The action concluded with the arrest of the individuals, and the seizure of the stolen material, as well as the vehicle used, according to the GNR.
The detainees appeared yesterday, October 31, before the Judicial Court of Miranda do Douro for the application of coercive measures.
The operation was reinforced by Territorial Posts from Vimioso, Miranda do Douro, and Mogadouro.
