The Clube dos Pensadores (CdP) marks its 19th anniversary with a special event scheduled for Friday, March 28. The celebration will feature José Ribeiro e Castro, former leader of the CDS-PP and president of the SHIP – Sociedade Histórica da Independência de Portugal, taking place at the Hotel Holiday Inn Porto-Gaia at 9:30 PM.
“Ribeiro e Castro’s presence will allow discussions on national politics, including themes of distrust, disinterest, and abstention,” stated the founder of CdP, Joaquim Jorge.
This occasion represents the 143rd session of the Clube dos Pensadores, described as “a free-access platform open to all, where no one is asked for identification or their ideology,” according to the founder.
Throughout its 19-year history, the Clube dos Pensadores has hosted a range of influential figures from various fields, including politics, justice, science, sociology, music, and sports. Notable personalities have included Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, Luís Montenegro, António Costa, Paula Teixeira da Cruz, Sobrinho Simões, António Barreto, Pedro Abrunhosa, André Villas-Boas, and Tiago Monteiro.
