The third suspect in the stabbing of a 17-year-old teenager “in the region of the armpit” at Colonel Jaime Filipe da Fonseca Municipal Park, known as ‘Parque do Avião,’ in Leiria, was detained on October 1 in the city of Peniche.
The arrest followed an operation carried out by the Public Security Police (PSP) related to “the events that occurred on April 25, 2025, in the center of Leiria.”
A 17-year-old teenager was identified as the third suspect in the stabbing of a young Venezuelan, who was struck “with a knife in the armpit area.” The victim was transported to Santo André Hospital and was not in life-threatening condition.
During a house search, the PSP seized 67.61 grams of hashish, a precision scale, several small transparent bags, and 115 euros in cash.
Presented for the first judicial interrogation, the teenager was prohibited from contacting the victim by any means and from leaving the municipality of Peniche.

On July 10, another police operation led to the arrest of two youths aged 19 and 20. The first was subjected to the same coercive measures applied to the 17-year-old, while the second was placed under house arrest with electronic monitoring and prohibited from leaving the municipality.
Authorities determined at the time that the three youths “delivered several blows with bladed weapons to a 17-year-old and subsequently stole a jacket, a mobile phone, and a shoulder bag” near the Civic Center of Leiria.
This action was conducted by the PSP’s District Command of Leiria through the Criminal Investigation Squad of Leiria.
