Thirty active fires this morning. Trancoso and Moimenta da Beira in resolution

As of 08:20 AM, 1,278 personnel were deployed on the ground, supported by 402 land vehicles and one aerial unit, according to the entity’s website.

This morning, the wildfire affecting Trancoso entered a resolution phase while still engaging 338 personnel and 108 land vehicles.

Moimenta da Beira also transitioned to a resolution phase, after experiencing uncontrollable conditions on Saturday, with 429 personnel and 137 land units actively managing the situation.

The fires in Ribeira de Pena and Sirarelhos, Vila Real, remain active, deploying 118 personnel with 46 land vehicles and one aerial unit, and 156 personnel with 44 land vehicles, respectively.

In total, the Civil Protection recorded 30 fire incidents this morning.

Portugal remains on alert due to worsening weather forecasts indicating a significant risk of rural fires.

During this alert, access to and movement within forest areas are prohibited in line with municipal forest defense plans, including burnings, with previously granted authorizations suspended.

The alert also bans forest and rural work involving machinery and the use of fireworks and pyrotechnic devices, with any previously issued permits suspended.
