“This is the message we must take across the country until the 18th: the narratives that are in place do not reflect the outcome—the voting hasn’t started yet,” declared Paulo Muacho during a campaign rally at the Academia Almadense in Almada, Setúbal district.

The Member of Parliament in the Assembly of the Republic, the first elected by Livre for the Setúbal constituency in 2024, noted that whenever opponents underestimate Livre, as they frequently do, they end up having to “reverse their stance” and acknowledge that the party brings the future the country needs.

“Just look at the reactions when we stated our goal of surpassing Iniciativa Liberal (IL),” remarked Paulo Muacho.

The deputy was referencing this week’s statement by Livre’s spokesperson, Rui Tavares, expressing the intent to compete for fourth place with IL.

Addressing a packed auditorium, Paulo Muacho explained that setting this goal was significant for Livre, as it demonstrated that the dominance of right-wing parties in the country is not insurmountable.

“Today, polls show Livre neck and neck with IL; we’re going to turn this around in the final week,” he asserted.

The deputy challenged those present to spread the message that Livre embodies “future, hope, and freedom” throughout the week.

“For things not to stay the same, the alternative must be Livre,” he emphasized.

Paulo Muacho claimed that the right is “eager for power and, above all, keen on settling scores with the country,” he concluded.

In the legislative elections of March 10, 2024, Livre elected its first deputy for Setúbal, garnering 21,552 votes (4.29%).
