A 58-year-old man has been charged after making threats at a fuel station using weapons and dangerous objects, which were seized by the Public Security Police (PSP) in Peniche.
On one occasion, the suspect allegedly expressed an intention to start a fire at the location, showing an “object resembling a firearm” last September.
On another occasion, the individual again presented the weapon, demanding money from the cash register, according to a statement from the Public Security Police (PSP) sent to newsrooms this Thursday.
Authorities sought to identify the suspect, conducting residential and non-residential searches in the Lourinhã municipality, which resulted in the seizure of a lighter shaped like a firearm (used in the threats), an air pressure gun, and an improvised baton.
The man, previously convicted of domestic violence, has been charged and is subject to identity and residence requirements.
