Three candidates are running for the position of rector of the University of Algarve.

In a statement, the academy announced that the candidacies will advance to the next stage of the electoral process, following the end of the appeal period during which “no objections” were raised that could impede the process for the election of the rector.

The process took place “after verifying compliance with the eligibility conditions and the requirements outlined in Articles 4 and 7 of the Rector Election Regulations,” the statement noted.

The public hearing for the candidates is scheduled for November 11 at the Grand Auditorium of the Gambelas Campus in Faro, with the election set for the following day.

The electoral committee decided that the public hearing of the candidates will occur in the order of their application submissions: Nuno Gonçalo Bicho, Maria Alexandra Teodósio, and Luís Pedro Ribeiro.

The electoral process is conducted according to the internal regulations of the university, aiming to select the next principal leader of the higher education institution in the Algarve.
