Three foreign nationals, aged between 24 and 35, were arrested by the Coastal and Border Control Unit (UCCF), through the Immigration Territorial Surveillance Unit of Matosinhos, on Tuesday, August 5, for illegally residing in the country, in the municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão.
In a statement sent to newsrooms, the National Republican Guard explains that “as part of an inspection operation aimed at controlling the entry and stay of foreign nationals in the country,” they approached “the three individuals who were working on an agricultural farm”.
Following investigations, the officers found that “the individuals did not comply with their notifications for voluntary departure from the country within the stipulated timeframe, as verified through checks in the available information systems, with support from the Agency for Integration, Migration and Asylum (AIMA).”
As a result, they were “immediately detained”.
The facts were communicated to the Judicial Court of Vila Nova de Famalicão.
