The three men were found in possession of illegal weapons, specifically an extendable baton and two brass knuckles, according to the police.
In a statement, the Metropolitan Command added that two reports of administrative offenses were also issued for violations related to the Private Security Legal Regime.
The arrests occurred on Saturday, between midnight and 3 a.m., on Rua Cândido dos Reis in Porto’s nightlife district as part of a Special Criminal Prevention Operation under the Arms Act.
The police explained that the operation aimed to control, detect, and combat the use and possession of prohibited weapons and that, additionally, it sought to carry out actions for controlling, identifying, and frisking individuals associated with drug consumption/trafficking and other property-related offenses, to enhance public safety.
During this operation, two night entertainment venues were inspected, where the suspects were detained.
In parallel, the police identified a 22-year-old man in possession of six doses of cocaine on the public street.
The detainees were notified to appear today before the competent Judicial Authority.
