During a press conference at the Assembly of the Republic, the PS parliamentary leader emphasized the proposal for a “structural increase in retirement pensions” in the event of an extraordinary increase decreed by the Government, “transforming the one-time bonus into a permanent pension increase.”
“The PS will not provide the Government an alibi to run a deficit,” stated Eurico Brilhante Dias, highlighting that the PS’s set of proposals “continues to maintain the budget surplus as presented by the Government.”
Furthermore, if the PSD/CDS-PP executive decides to increase the ISP (Tax on Oil and Energy Products) by decree, the PS wants the “Government to come to the Assembly of the Republic to ensure that this budgetary margin is used specifically to reduce VAT on food products,” announced Eurico Brilhante Dias.
