The president of Portugal’s Social Democratic Party (PSD), Luís Montenegro, stated today that he “does not put on a mask” due to upcoming elections, emphasizing that governance requires “a sense of responsibility” rather than impulsive decision-making.
“Governance is for those who, I believe, have a sense of responsibility. It is for those who are not impulsive and do not frequently have to retract statements due to hasty decisions. We are not of that school. We are from the school of responsibility,” he declared.
Montenegro, who is also the Prime Minister, was speaking at the Teatro Micaelense in Ponta Delgada during the presentation of the coalition candidacy of PSD/CDS-PP/PPM in the Azores. This is the only district where the three parties are running together for the legislative elections on May 18.
