
The President of the Northern Regional Directorate of the Order of Economists, Carlos Brito, stated that the economic impact of the strike could “range from 600 to 700 million euros”. He noted that “the sectors most affected will be those that rely more heavily on the physical presence of workers”, while “on the other hand, in labor struggles, it is known that unions tend to focus more on those sectors with greater impact on the daily lives of Portuguese people”.
