Sofia Carreira, the leading candidate of the PSD for the Leiria City Council, emphasized the necessity of proximity politics today, criticizing the current administration for being “very distant from the people.”
“We feel a council very distant from the people, which organizes events, but then these events are mere moments, lacking the continuation of a structured policy that brings the municipality closer to the people by naturally promoting works and projects that enhance this proximity,” Sofia Carreira stated to the Lusa agency, during a visit to a private social solidarity institution (IPSS) in the parish of Arrabal.
