Today marks the deadline for property owners to pay the Municipal Property Tax (IMI) in a single installment if the amount is less than 100 euros or the first installment if the total exceeds this amount.
The deadline, which usually ends in late May, was extended due to technical constraints resulting from a blackout.
Under the law, the IMI is paid in a single payment in May when the amount is below 100 euros, split into two installments paid in May and November when it ranges between 100 and 500 euros.
If it exceeds 500 euros, it is divided into three equal installments to be paid in May, August, and November.
However, for several years, property owners have had the option to pay the entire tax amount in the May settlement if they choose.
The latest official data shows that in 2023, 556,011 taxpayers made early payment of IMI.
