The Japanese Topix index increased by 0.11% to 2,790.04 points at 09:25 local time (01:25 in mainland Portugal).
The Nikkei index represents the unweighted average of the top 225 stocks on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, while the Topix index compiles the values of the 1,600 largest listed companies.
