Tokyo Stock Exchange opens with Nikkei down 0.5%

The Topix index also opened lower by 0.11% at 2,816.22 points, two minutes after the session began at 09:02 local time (01:02 in Lisbon).

The Nikkei index reflects the unweighted average of the top 225 values on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, while the Topix index aggregates the values of the largest 1,600 listed companies.
