Tomás Fernandes and Teresa Bonvalot won the first round of the Portuguese Surf League today at Cabedelo beach in Figueira da Foz.
Tomás Fernandes, national runner-up in 2019, won the event by beating Tiago Stock in the final, who had never reached the quarter-finals of a stage of the competition, by winning 14.35 points against 11.80.
In the women’s section, Olympian Teresa Bonvalot, a four-time national champion, came out on top with 13.10 points in the decisive heat against Gabriela Dinis, who failed to go beyond 11.85 and was unable to defend the Figueiredo stage title she won in 2023.
The next stage of the League will be held in Praia de Matosinhos, between April 12 and 14.
