Tourism registers an increase in revenue and a decrease in overnight stays in February.

The tourism accommodation sector reported 1.8 million guests (+0.6%) and 4.2 million overnight stays (-2.5%) in February 2025, generating total revenues of 287.7 million euros and lodging revenues of 208.8 million euros (+4.0% and +3.4%, respectively).

Overnight stays by residents recorded a decrease of 0.8% (+11.0% in January), reaching 1.4 million, while those by non-residents decreased 3.3% (+3.9% in January), totaling 2.8 million.

Among the top ten source markets in February in terms of overnight stays, the Polish market was the only one to grow (+23.2%). The Brazilian market stood out for recording the greatest decrease (-18.9%).

The average revenue per available room (RevPAR) was 39.6 euros (+4.5%), and the average revenue per occupied room (ADR) reached 87.9 euros (+4.9%).

The National Institute of Statistics (INE) notes that it is important to highlight that “the results of February were influenced by the mobile structure of the calendar, that is, on one hand, by the effect of the holiday period associated with Carnival, which this year occurred in March, while in the previous year it took place in February.”

“On the other hand, this February had one day less than the previous year since 2024 was a leap year,” it concluded.
