Agricultural accident claims life in Leiria region, says the Sub-regional Command for Emergency and Civil Protection of Leiria. The alert was received at 19:51, with 17 personnel and seven vehicles from the Alvaiázere Volunteer Firefighters, National Republican Guard (GNR), and National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM) responding to the scene.
The GNR confirmed the incident involved an agricultural vehicle on private property, resulting in the death of a 72-year-old man and causing minor injuries to a 64-year-old man.
Interim Commander Vítor Joaquim of the Alvaiázere Firefighters stated that an INEM psychological support team was dispatched to assist the family of the deceased, who lived in the parish of Almoster.
