The PSP observed that during their presence in the Pasteleira and Pinheiro Torres neighborhoods, drug trafficking shifted to the neighborhoods of Ramalde and Viso, also located in Porto.
Between November 12 and 16, the PSP conducted 24-hour patrols in these two neighborhoods known for drug trafficking, with the goal of “increasing the residents’ sense of security and maintaining public order,” as stated by the commander of the PSP’s second police division in Porto, Superintendent José Alves, on the first day.
According to data released today, on November 13 at 19:00, two men suspected of drug trafficking were arrested in the Pinheiro Torres neighborhood, along with another individual for driving without a license. Additionally, an undisclosed quantity of narcotics was seized by the PSP.
In the first two days of the operation, two vehicles were also seized for road traffic offenses, added a source from the Porto Metropolitan Police Command of the PSP.
The Police do not rule out the possibility of returning to reinforced policing for an indefinite period in these two neighborhoods when deemed necessary.
