The fire that broke out at 16:43 in a brush area in Mem Martins, Sintra, initially required the complete closure of IC19, with two lanes later reopened towards Lisboa-Sintra.
The Greater Lisbon Sub-Regional Command confirmed that traffic was fully restored by 18:20.
By 19:00, the source added, the fire was in the aftermath and wrap-up phase.
Regarding injuries, the number of victims was updated, with three people requiring assistance due to smoke inhalation.
“Three individuals suffered from smoke inhalation and needed to be transported to Cascais Hospital,” it was stated.
Earlier, Civil Protection had indicated that one person received medical assistance on site for smoke inhalation.
