“A Brisa Concessão Rodoviária reports that traffic on the A5 has been reopened after the resolution of an incident at kilometer 21 near Alcabideche,” the company stated in a note released at 20:00.
Information provided to Lusa earlier in the afternoon by a source from the Sub-Regional Command for Emergency and Civil Protection of Lisbon indicated the alert for the truck accident blocking the road was issued around 15:30.
According to the same source, the accident resulted in one injury, with 20 personnel deployed to the scene, supported by eight vehicles. Firefighters from Estoril, Parede, and Alcabideche, as well as elements from the GNR and Brisa, responded to the incident.
In the Lisbon-Cascais direction, traffic was also affected, initially limited to the hard shoulder.
