Traffic, which had been halted in both directions since 6:19 a.m., was reopened shortly after 8:30 a.m., according to a source from the Oeste Sub-Regional Command for Relief Operations speaking to the Lusa news agency.
A fatal collision between two light vehicles occurred this morning on the IC2 in Turquel, in the municipality of Alcobaça, district of Leiria.
The accident resulted in the death of a 50-year-old man, while a 25-year-old sustained minor injuries and was transported to Leiria Hospital, stated a source from the Oeste Sub-Regional Command to Lusa.
The collision took place at kilometer 88.7 on the IC2. Emergency response units included 23 operatives supported by ten vehicles on the scene.
