The road was closed in both directions from 11:00 AM today at kilometer 6.7 due to a car accident that resulted in the deaths of two individuals.
The victims, both Portuguese nationals, are a 53-year-old man and an 81-year-old woman.
A total of 24 emergency personnel were dispatched to the site, supported by nine vehicles, according to the Civil Protection website.
Among the deployed responders is a team from the GNR’s Road Accident Investigation Unit (NICAV), which is still working to determine the cause of the accident.
