
In a statement released today, Francisco César expressed profound sorrow over the tragedy in Lisbon, extending heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and wishing a speedy recovery to all the injured.

The PS/Azores “shares in the pain affecting the city of Lisbon and the entire country.” Due to national mourning, the scheduled agenda for today has been canceled.
The Glória Funicular in Lisbon derailed on Wednesday at 18:04, resulting in at least 17 fatalities and 21 injuries.
Of the 17 casualties, 15 were confirmed at the accident scene, and two died in the hospitals where they were transported.
The government has declared a national day of mourning today, while the Lisbon City Council decided to observe three days of municipal mourning.
The Glória Funicular connects the Restauradores to the Jardim de São Pedro de Alcântara in Bairro Alto, covering a distance of approximately 265 meters and is a popular attraction for tourists.
