Train students against ‘fake news’? Applications until June 15

The project backed by the newspaper Polígrafo and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation is aimed at “raising awareness and empowering high school students in the fight against misinformation, enhancing critical thinking, and promoting a more responsible consumption of information”.

Following its educational ‘roadshow’ across various schools, the project’s second phase includes a national competition that encourages secondary school students to create original content (in various formats) to deconstruct misleading narratives circulating in the European public sphere.

The deadline for submissions in this second phase extends until June 15, accessible through the project’s website.

Winners will travel to Brussels in the next academic year to learn more about the workings of European institutions.

In addition to the Representation of the European Commission in Portugal, “Pinóquio na Escola” also receives support from the Office of the European Parliament in Portugal and the National Agency Erasmus+ Youth/Sport, European Solidarity Corps, and the Directorate-General for Education.
