Tribeca returns in October: Featuring Kim Cattrall, Meg Ryan (and an extra day)

The Tribeca Festival Lisbon announced highlights for its 2nd edition, which will take place from October 30th to November 1st, following its premiere last year at the Unicorn Factory.

This year, the Lisbon edition, an offshoot of New York’s event, has extended to three days. Notable attendees confirmed include Kim Cattrall, Giancarlo Esposito, and Meg Ryan, who will participate in special conversations and prominent events.

“The Tribeca Festival Lisbon was born from our desire to connect storytellers from around the world to one of the most vibrant creative communities in Europe,” explained Jane Rosenthal, co-founder and CEO of Tribeca Enterprises, in a statement.

The festival will also host the Portuguese premiere of ‘Honeyjoon’, winner of the AT&T Untold Stories award at the Tribeca Festival 2024. The film, directed by Lilian T. Mehrel and produced by Andreia Nunes, features Ayden Mayeri, Amira Casar, and renowned Portuguese actor José Condessa, alongside António Maria, Tiago Sarmento, Teresa Faria, and Tomás Furtado de Melo.

“This year’s program reflects the spirit of discovery, inclusion, and cultural exchange that defines Tribeca. From the Portuguese premiere of ‘Honeyjoon’ to conversations with some of our most iconic artists, we are proud to continue the momentum from our first year and deepen our connection with Lisbon,” Rosenthal adds.

Last year’s edition featured appearances by Robert De Niro, Whoopi Goldberg, director Patty Jenkins, actor and director Griffin Dunne, and producer Joana Vicente, among others.

Whoopi Goldberg and Ricardo Araújo Pereira shared the stage this Friday, October 18th, at the Tribeca Festival Lisbon.

A memorable moment at the festival was the stage “sharing” between Whoopi Goldberg and Ricardo Araújo Pereira. At the time, Goldberg remarked that RAP had the “air of a businessman, a CEO,” but was “as funny as anything.”

Notícias ao Minuto covered the festival’s debut, noting the participation of national figures such as Lili Caneças, Carolina Patrocínio, and Daniela Ruah, and included a conversation with actor Chazz Palminteri.
