A 25-year-old man was arrested on Saturday after shooting another man at the Monte Abraão Market in Sintra, Lisbon district.
The incident occurred in the morning when the man fired two shots, according to a source from the National Directorate of the Public Security Police speaking to Notícias ao Minuto. One bullet grazed the victim’s left arm, while the other hit the chest.
The victim was initially taken to Hospital Professor Doutor Fernando Fonseca (Amadora-Sintra) and was later transferred to Hospital de São José.
The Sintra branch of the Public Security Police intercepted the suspect, arresting him and seizing the weapon along with seven rounds of ammunition.
The shooting purportedly followed a dispute over “trivial reasons.”
