
A truck accident has disrupted traffic on Highway 5 (A5), in the Cascais/Lisbon direction, near Alcabideche, this Thursday afternoon, confirmed by the Greater Lisbon Sub-regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command.
The alert for the truck accident was raised at 3:28 PM at kilometer 21.800 of the A5, towards Cascais/Lisbon.
The truck driver was injured and is being assisted at the scene by emergency services.
The site is attended by 20 operatives supported by eight vehicles, including firefighters from the Estoril, Parede, and Alcabideche brigades, as well as members of the GNR and Brisa.
In the Lisbon/Cascais direction, traffic is moving along the road shoulder.
In a statement sent to the press, Brisa stated that “A5 is closed in the Cascais-Lisbon direction due to an incident at km 21, near Alcabideche.”
“In the Lisbon/Cascais direction, traffic is limited. The alternative is to exit the A5 to the A16,” it added.
