The volume of business activity in the services sector reported a year-over-year increase of 0.9% in March, signifying a slowdown of 3.7 percentage points compared to the previous month, as announced by the National Institute of Statistics (INE) on Tuesday.
In the first quarter of 2025, there was an observed increase of 4.2%, while the last quarter of 2024 showed a variation of 4.4%.
For March, the monthly change was recorded at -1.8%, intensifying the decline of 0.8% noted in the prior month.
Employment and remuneration indices exhibited year-over-year variations of 3.1% and 8.4%, respectively, in March (compared to 4.0% and 8.7% in February).
