The detainees are a 38-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man.
The National Republican Guard (GNR) arrested two people for drug trafficking, in the municipalities of Loulé and Olhão, Faro district.
In a statement, the GNR explains that the detainees are a woman and a man, aged 38 and 40 respectively.
An investigation into drug trafficking had been underway for about a month, in which it was concluded that the detainees were “organized in order to distribute the drug product for sale to consumers” in these Algarve municipalities.
An arrest warrant and three house search warrants were served, as well as a vehicle search warrant.
This resulted in the seizure of 5,128 doses of heroin, 1,006 doses of cocaine, four cell phones, a vehicle, a precision scale and “various materials used to adulterate and package narcotics”.
The detainees were brought before Faro’s Judicial Court on Wednesday for the application of coercive measures.
