The National Republican Guard (GNR) arrested two men, aged 28 and 42, in the act of fraud on Wednesday in the municipality of Campo Maior.
The information, provided by the Territorial Command of Portalegre of the GNR in a communication sent to the newsrooms, indicates that the arrest was made during a patrol operation.
Authorities report that they approached the two individuals near an ATM machine due to their suspicious behavior.
During the course of the investigations, it was determined that the suspects had just committed fraud via the MB Way application.
The operation resulted in the arrest of the individuals and the seizure of 360 euros in cash, a mobile phone, and a car.
The detainees have been charged and the facts have been communicated to the Judicial Court of Elvas.
