Authorities have arrested two more men on suspicion of drug trafficking at the Boom Festival, currently ongoing in Idanha-a-Nova until July 24, the Polícia Judiciária (PJ) announced in a statement on Tuesday, July 22.
According to inspectors, the suspects, who are foreign nationals, were caught red-handed yesterday while selling drugs to festival-goers at the event.
During the arrest, the PJ seized 150 chocolates containing hallucinogenic mushrooms, 44 tablets of MDMA, 10 grams of Ketamine, 10 capsules containing psilocybin, and 14,000 euros in cash, derived from sales.
The detainees, aged between 25 and 53, will now be presented for an initial judicial interrogation to determine appropriate coercive measures.
The inquiries are under the jurisdiction of the Department of Investigation and Penal Action (DIAP) of Castelo Branco, as stated by the PJ.
In recent days, authorities have arrested several suspects of drug trafficking during the Boom Festival or with drugs intended for the event.

The PJ claims to have strong evidence that the suspects are part of an international organized crime group with a history of exclusively dedicating themselves to the cultivation, preparation, and sale of drugs.
In one situation, more than 11,000 euros in cash was seized from illegal sales already conducted at the festival. In another instance, the suspects had 10,000 euros on them.
Days before the festival began, the PJ had already arrested two men suspected of cultivating cannabis at home with the intention of selling it at Boom.
Besides cannabis, inspectors seized about a dozen other types of drugs, including cocaine, ketamine, hundreds of ecstasy tablets, hallucinogenic mushrooms, and LSD stamps.
This year, the Boom Festival is taking place from July 17 to 24 in Idanha-a-Nova, Castelo Branco.
