An elderly couple, both approximately 70 years old, was injured and trapped inside their vehicle following an accident in Arraiolos, according to the Central Alentejo Civil Protection Sub-Regional Command.
The incident was reported to authorities at 16:26, with the rescue operation being completed around 17:00. The accident occurred at kilometer 109.200 on the EN4.
A helicopter from the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM) is present at the site.
In addition to the aerial support, the rescue efforts involve 21 personnel and seven vehicles from the fire department, GNR, and INEM.
