Two suspects of stabbing young man on Matosinhos beach arrested

The Maritime Police arrested two men after they allegedly stabbed on Sunday a young man in a terrace near the beach of Matosinhos, in the district of Porto, revealed that police force.

In a statement released Sunday night, the Maritime Police said that the detainees, aged 19 and 24, fled after the assault, having been located and identified about a kilometer from the beach bar.

The youths were then referred to the Judicial Police, which is investigating the case.

The 21-year-old victim received medical assistance at the scene by professionals from the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM), and was later transported to a hospital.

The alert for a stabbing incident at the esplanade came at 2:53 pm.

In addition to elements of the command of the Maritime Police of Leixões, were on site elements of the PSP, the fire department volunteers of Leixões and the INEM.
