
Two young individuals, aged 17 and 22, were rescued on Saturday afternoon after encountering difficulties in the water at Sul Beach in Ericeira, Mafra municipality.
According to the National Maritime Authority (AMN), the alert was raised at 4:30 pm by a nearby bystander.
The situation involved “two people experiencing difficulties in the water.”
Responders included crew members from the Ericeira Lifeboat Station, as well as personnel from the Ericeira Volunteer Firefighters and the National Republican Guard.
“Upon arriving at the scene, the crewmembers of the Lifeboat Station conducted the rescue of the victims, two young men aged 17 and 22, transporting them to the Ericeira port, where firefighters were waiting to provide immediate assistance,” stated the AMN.
After receiving medical attention, “the two young individuals left the location on their own accord.”
