UHF release new “urgent and timeless” album on Friday.

The band’s management has announced that ‘O lugar do rock’ is “a sonic manifesto of resistance, memory, and overcoming challenges, featuring eight tracks, either newly released or re-recorded, divided between sides A and B as in the old days.”

“‘O lugar do rock’ is an urgent and timeless album, created with the awareness that music should resist formulas and trends, celebrating the journey with feet on the road and heart on the guitar. An album for fans and those who still believe that rock has a place in life — and in art,” the statement reads.

UHF will kick off the ‘Cromados & Limalha’ tour on Saturday in Sousel, with dates in Barrosas, Felgueiras (June 7), Pinhal Novo (June 10), Idanha-a-Nova (June 14), Tires, Cascais (June 15), Nordeste, São Miguel island in the Azores (July 7), São Mamede de Negrelos, Santo Tirso (August 16), Buarcos, Figueira da Foz (September 19), and Porto (December 26).

The album ‘O lugar do rock’, released as a “special edition,” will be available “exclusively at concerts and on www.uhf.pt.”

UHF, originating from Costa de Caparica, Almada, was formed in 1978 with its initial lineup consisting of António Manuel Ribeiro (vocals and guitar), Renato Gomes (guitar), Carlos Peres (bass), and Américo Manuel (drums).

The single ‘Cavalos de Corrida’, the band’s second, released in October 1980, sold over 100,000 copies.

From the band’s original lineup, only António Manuel Ribeiro remains, now joined by Ivan Cristiano (drums), António Côrte-Real (guitar), Nuno Correia (bass), and Miguel Urbano (piano, keyboards, and accordion).

UHF has released 406 songs, 18 original albums, and 11 live albums.
