An alert for a fire in Rua Central de Cabeçais was reported around 2:30 AM, according to Carlos Teixeira, Deputy of the Fajões Fire Department.
“The house is uninhabitable due to the smoke,” stated Teixeira, noting that the couple, both around 30 years old, who lived in the house, has been temporarily relocated to their parents’ home.
The two people suffered minor injuries from smoke inhalation but declined hospital treatment, he added.
Resources from the Fajões and Arouca Volunteer Firefighters were dispatched to the scene, involving 24 personnel supported by nine vehicles. Additionally, the Immediate Life Support Ambulance from Arouca, the Feira’s Emergency and Resuscitation Medical Vehicle, and the GNR were deployed.
