In the week ending November 29, the seasonally adjusted number of initial unemployment claims was 191,000, a decrease of 27,000 from the revised level of the previous week, according to a statement released by the DOL.
This marks the lowest level since September 24, 2022.
The previous week’s level was revised upward from 216,000 to 218,000.
The four-week moving average settled at 214,750, a decrease of 9,500 compared to the revised average of the previous week, which increased from 223,750 to 224,250.
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained at 1.3% for the week ending November 22.
During this period, the number of unemployed individuals reached 1,939,000, a reduction of 4,000 from the revised level of the previous week.
