
In the euro area, the unemployment rate was recorded at 6.2%, showing a decrease from 6.5% in March 2024, while remaining stable compared to February.
Across the 27 EU Member States, the unemployment rate stood at 5.8%, also unchanged month-on-month but down from 6.0% in March 2024.
Eurostat estimates indicate that 12.904 million people were unemployed in the EU in March, with 10.818 million of them within the euro area.
Spain (10.9%), Finland (9.1%), and Greece (9.0%) reported the highest unemployment rates in March, while the Czech Republic (2.6%), Poland (2.7%), and Malta (2.8%) had the lowest.
In Portugal, the unemployment rate remained stable at 6.5% in March, both year-on-year and compared to February, according to the European statistical service.
