
According to statistics, June marked the third consecutive month of decreasing unemployment rates.
Following a consistent 6.4% in February and March, unemployment decreased to 6.3% in April, 6.1% in May, and now stands at 6% in June.
The unemployed population in June dropped to 335,500, decreasing “compared to all three comparison periods: the previous month (5,300; 1.6%), three months prior (18,000; 5.1%), and the same month in 2024 (4,900; 1.4%),” according to INE.
The employed population increased to 5.2 million, rising “compared to the previous month (8,300; 0.2%), three months prior (44,700; 0.9%), and the same month last year (176,800; 3.5%).”
