
In March, unemployment rates remained at 3.9% among men, while rising by 0.1 percentage point to 4.1% among women.
Youth unemployment held steady at 11.6%.
The CSO report indicated that there were 114,800 unemployed individuals in March, marking an increase of 1,200 compared to February. However, this reflects a decrease of 5,600 when compared to the same period the previous year.
The Irish government has warned that the new tariffs imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump could result in the loss of between 50,000 and 80,000 jobs.
The trade war could potentially impact Ireland’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by between 2% and 4%.
