
In the Eurozone countries, the unemployment rate slowed in April to 6.2%, compared to 6.4% in the same month of the previous year and 6.3% in March.
Among the 27 member states, the unemployment rate of 5.9% decreased from 6.0% a year earlier, remaining stable on a monthly basis.
The European statistics service (Eurostat) estimates that 12.902 million people in the EU, of which 10.680 million in the Eurozone, were unemployed in April 2025.
Spain (10.9%), Finland (9.1%), and Sweden (8.6%) recorded the highest unemployment rates in April, while the lowest were observed in Malta and the Czech Republic (2.7% each), Bulgaria and Poland (3.3% each), and Germany (3.6%).
Portugal registered an unemployment rate of 6.3% in April.
